ABDOMINOPLASTY

Lower abdomen is often found to sag as a result of multiple pregnancies or after severe weight loss. In such situations, abdominoplasty is a procedure that is used to removal excess skin and fat in the lower abdomen to produce a more toned out looking abdomen. The surgical scar is hidden in the bikini line and is not visible under normal clothing. This is usually combined with liposuction known as lipoabdominoplasty.

This procedure is generally performed under general anaesthesia with sedation. Swelling subsides and initial results appear in 2 to 4 weeks. Final results are visible in 8 weeks. Patient can experience flattening & fading of incision lines over one year.

Endoscopy assisted mini-abdominoplasty

The advent of minimal access procedures has not found avenues into cosmetic surgery procedures. Mini abdominoplasty procedures allow tackling flaccidity in the upper abdomen without wide surgical procedure using endoscopic control. This procedure is a new advent to the wide spectrum of procedures in cosmetic surgery.
